CJ Alumni ProfilesStudent: Kent Krause
What are you doing now? I am currently attending the MATC (Milwaukee) Basic Recruit Police Training Academy. I am also working for the Carroll University Department of Public Safety as a Public Safety Officer. How did Carroll help you? Carroll helped me by providing me with a great rounded education in many different areas of study which help acclimate yourself in the real world. Carroll has also helped by providing me with the leadership skills, communication skills, and confidence to be successful in the Criminal Justice field. What advice do you have for current criminal justice or sociology students? My advice for current Carroll students studying Criminal Justice or Sociology is to pay attention to the lectures and use the text books to supplement the lectures. Using both tools will help you succeed in class and learn to apply those lessons taught in real life applications. Ask questions, don't be afraid of your professors or fellow classmates, everyone is on the same team and wants you to be successful and if you have a questions chances are some others have that same questions and the Criminal Justice field is all about team work. Anything else? The only other item I can add is to be involved in school including student organizations and going to events, they are a great way to meet new people and learn more about yourself. |
